Chairman – Dr Peter Rowley
Peter is an active business mentor and investor, having retired in 2000 following his earlier successful management buyout of Victrex PLC from ICI, and subsequent listing of the business on the London Stock Exchange. Peter has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Kings College, London.
CEO – Dr Michael Edelman
Michael joined Nanoco in 2004, having held executive/senior management positions in a number of successful companies, including Exatec LLC, yet2.com, Colloids Ltd and Brunner Mond & Company Ltd. He started his career with ICI and has a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Sussex.
Founder & Chief Technology Officer – Dr Nigel Pickett
Nigel’s research has focused on precursor design for MOVPE growth, gas phase synthesis of nanoparticles, design and evaluation of precursors used in MOVPE, and solution phase synthesis of nanoparticles. Nigel co-founded Nanoco while working at The University of Manchester.
Chief Financial Officer – Colin White
Colin, who joined Nanoco in August 2010, is a chartered accountant with international experience of publicly quoted companies in the manufacturing, technology and professional services sectors including Driver Group plc, Scapa Group plc and TI Group plc. A graduate of Cambridge University he qualified as an accountant with Grant Thornton in 1987.
Manufacturing Director - Andrew Gooda
Andrew joined Nanoco in January 2010, having previously been a Site Director for the speciality chemicals company Croda. Starting with ICI in 1985, Andrew has 25 years of wide ranging experience in the chemical industry, with a particular expertise in operations management. He holds an Engineering degree from Imperial College, an MBA from Durham Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge.
Founder & Scientific Advisor – Prof. Paul O'Brien
Head of the Chemistry Department and a Chair in the Materials Department at University of Manchester, Paul is the Chairman of the Materials Forum of the Royal Society of Chemistry, leader of the Royal Society’s programme at the University of Zululand, SA, and an adviser to Mahanakorn University of Technology, Thailand.
Vice President (Asia) – Dr Nobuaki Tamagawa
Nobuaki joined Nanoco in 2005 as Executive Adviser (Asia). Formerly Technical Director for DuPont, and with Sony for over 20 years, his Ph.D. in the Physics of Material Science is from Hokkaido National University, and he teaches physics as visiting Professor at the American University, Washington DC.
Vice President (North America) - Steve Reinhard
Steve joined Nanoco in 2008, having previously held senior management positions in Business Development and Product Marketing with Dynamic Organic Light Inc and Displaytech Inc. He started his career with Lockheed Martin Corporation and holds an MBA from Binghamton University along with an Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
